RAWALPINDI — Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) is once again going to launch yellow cab scheme in Punjab. A proposal in this regard has been presented in the provincial budget 2011-12 aimed at providing an opportunity to the unemployed youths to earn their livelihood in a respectable manner.
The Political Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhary Sarfraz Afzal while talking to media said the Punjab government will provide 20,000 taxis under the scheme said.
He said an amount of Rs4.5 billion has been allocated in the budget.
He said Suzuki Mehran and Bolan will be given on easy installments to those who will fulfill the criterion.
He said the applicants will have to pay down payment of Rs100,000 and the remaining amount will be paid in installments without interest.
Sarfraz said in the past, a nationwide yellow cab scheme was launched and thousands of unemployed youth availed the facility. — APP
